“ESI S.P.A IS ONE OF THE WORLD’S FIRST ENTERPRISES IN THE FIELD OF SUPPLEMENTARY FOOD AND PHYTOTHERAPY”

HISTORY

ESI s.p.a. is a company that operates in the area of phytotherapy products, dietetic and nutritional supplementary food. It was established towards the mid seventy’s by the current President, Antonio Maria Galleano.
Initially, ESI brand identified a line of registered products imported from Switzerland.
Later, we had the choice to make our own products, creating new formulas in line with scientific tendencies and market needs.


Originally, the company started in Genoa. Later in 1992, it was transferred to Albissola Marina, near Savona, in order to take advantage of a more spacious area.

Currently, the factory settles on an 194.000 sq. feet area from which 107.000 sq. feet are covered and reserved for manufacturing. Another area is used for administrative and commercial purposes with a total of 70 employees. The company’s production installations are located at the highest levels of quality on today’s market.

The company’s objective is to become an enterprise of reference in the study of Phytotherapy and dietetic nutritional supplements, and efficaciously compete, in the health field, with the most important manufacturers in today world’s market.

21 ESSENTIAL & FUNDAMENTAL PROCEDURES FOR THE QUALITY CONTROL

  • Buy only the best raw materials from qualified suppliers and validated by ESI®.
  • Store raw materials in appropriate locations, away from heat and humidity.
  • Testing and assessment of all lots of all raw materials upon receipt, by physico-chemical and microbiological analyses, using established protocols and sophisticated methods of control in respect of technical specifications agreed with suppliers.
  • Switching lots to ensure the use of the most recent raw materials.
  • Where necessary, provide an over dose of ingredients to ensure that the required amount at the end of the shelf life is in agreement with the statements on the label.
  • Use of fillers, binders and other ingredients of natural origin and / or vegetable.
  • Reduce in granules, where necessary, certain nutrients to ensure a homogeneous mixture of ingredients.
  • Produce in dehumidified environments to prevent damage to the nutrients sensitive to moisture.
  • Using the latest compression techniques avoiding use of harmful elements.
  • When it is necessary, wraps uniformly the tablets up with a film immediately after production, to prevent moisture and oxidation of the finished product.
  • Perform tests of ventilation to ensure that tablets and capsules dissolve according to the time prescribed by the Pharmacopoeia, depending on the type of product.
  • Check all analytical lots of semi-finished before releasing the package.
  • Pack the product in bulk immediately after analysis.
  • Pack in containers and blister tablets, capsules and liquid according to the current regulations on hygiene and food safety.
  • Pack the product so as to minimize the effects of light, heat and humidity.
  • Use appropriate containers to food.
  • Periodically check the characterization of ingredients in products to ensure its effectiveness until the end of life.
  • Testing and monitoring of all lots of all finished products, by physic-chemical and microbiological analyses before marketing approval.
  • Keep an inventory with a sophisticated computer system, allowing you to carefully monitor stocks and offer fresh and recent production.
  • Ensure, however & always the implementation and updating of security procedures, using the principles underlying the system of hazard analysis and critical control points.
  • Ensure complete traceability from the receipt of each batch of raw materials to delivery of goods at point of sale pursuant to Regulation EC 178/2002.

  • In 1995, the authorization from the Department of Health to produce dietetic and integrated food products.
  • In 1997, the authorization to produce homeopathic medications.
  • In 1999, the ISO 9001 Certification, that guarantees the absolute quality of the ESI spa production.
  • In 2002, the upgrading of the quality system to the European norm ISO 9001:2000
  • In 2004, the production certification for the juices of the Aloe Vera Line.

CERTIQUALITY is a non-profit organization accredited to provide the enterprises with certification services covering quality, environmental, and safety management systems, as well as product certification. Certiquality certifies and guarantees the Aloe Vera ESI line:

  • Products free from pesticides residues or chemical fertilizers.
  • Mucopolysaccharide contents no less than 7.000 mg/liter
ESI is supported by the collaboration of universities, research institutes and hospitals, within Italy and outside the country to test the effectiveness and security of their own products. Also,a strict approach from the pharmaceutical industry applied to the subject of natural products provide an additional warranty to our consumers.
The special RETARD formulation, studied by the ESI, guarantees the body with the possibility of utilize the nutrients in a gradual and complete manner. The RETARD capsule contains 4 small tablets that are released gradually at a different times. These 4 tablets that might be resistant to the gastrointestinal effects, disintegrate at a different times. It permits a gradual and consistant release of the active principles giving to the whole body enough time to assimilate and transport them, offering a long lasting action.
NATURCAPS capsules are made of pure cellulose fiber (a natural constituent of the vegetable cell walls). For those who appreciate the benefits of plants and their extracts, is logic to wrap them up with a 100 % vegetable lining instead of animals lining.
The vegetable capsules are approved by the Vegetarian Society.

The manufacturing process and the most strict quality control have led the Department of Health to give ESI s.p.a the authorization to produce dietetic and nutritional supplementary products from natural sources.
